MUMBAI: One of India’s leading filmmakers Karan Johar has become a single father of twins, a baby boy and a baby girl through surrogacy last month.

The renowned filmmaker has named his kids as Yash and Roohi. While Yash is derived from his late father’s name, Roohi is a rearrangement of the director’s mother’s name, Hiroo.

The news was confirmed by a top BMC Health Officer, and the babies were delivered by Dr. Makrand Masrani.

Civi officials reported the birth registration details listed Mr Johar as the children’s father, but there is no mention of the mother’s name.

Mr Johar is currently out of town and has not confirmed the news.

Mr Johar is the second single father in Bollywood after Tusshar Kapoor, who has taken help of surrogacy for his twins.
